Bleached Knots

Bleached knots are one of the most effective techniques for making a hair system base virtually undetectable. By lightening the knot colour at the root, the base blends seamlessly with the scalp for a truly natural appearance.

What Are Bleached Knots?

Bleached knots are the result of a delicate root bleaching process performed after each strand of hair is individually knotted to the base of a hair system. The process removes most of the dark colour pigment from the hair root, creating the appearance of hair growing naturally from the scalp.

Without bleaching, knots can appear as tiny dark dots on the surface of the base — especially on lighter-coloured or thinner base materials. Bleaching those knots eliminates this tell-tale sign, making the system look far more realistic at close range.

Recommendations

Front hairline

Bleach knots at the front 1–2 inches for maximum naturalness. This is the most visible area and benefits the most from an undetectable knot appearance.

Leave the back

Keep knots unbleached at the crown and back for durability. These areas are naturally covered by surrounding hair, so knot visibility is rarely a concern.

Partial bleaching

A popular compromise — bleach only the front for a natural hairline while maintaining strength elsewhere. This is the approach True Hair recommends for most clients.

Lifespan impact

Full bleaching shortens the overall lifespan of the system. If longevity is a priority, limit bleaching to the areas where it matters most.
